What is your photography style?

I love to capture both posed and candid photos, and can tend toward either one as the client would like. I try to give general prompts that help guide my clients pose, but also allow them to be themselves and be comfortable. My goal is to capture people being themselves, with genuine smiles, and to have fun!

What is an extended photography session like?

First we meet at the agreed location and I can answer any last minute questions about clothing choices. Then we will warm up with simple poses and classic style photos, followed by a variety of standing, walking, sitting and natural playing/interaction shots. We will be able to walk around to different locations and backgrounds. You will have time to change clothes if desired.

How long does it take to get the photos back?

During the off-season you will get your photos back within one week. During the busy season, you will get them back within two weeks or less.

What if it is supposed to rain the time of our scheduled session?

If a day or two before the session the forecast isn’t looking good, we will reschedule for another time. If its light rain and you still want to make it happen with some fun umbrella photos, we can do that too!

Do you take extended family photos?

Yes! But you will need to schedule a one hour extended photography session, not a 30-minute session.

What should I (we) wear?

If it is just you, like senior photos, then most clothing choices that you are comfortable in will work. Generally, solid colors and clothing that is not too loose or too tight is best. Also consider the background. If we are taking photos in nature, green might not be the best choice. Choose clothing that you are comfortable in.

For group photos, try to choose colors that compliment each other. A palate of similar toned colors tends to be more visually interesting than everyone wearing the exact same color. Some patterns mixed in are ok, like a plaid shirt, but watch out for clashing patterns.

Should I come with posing ideas or props?

I will be able to guide you through a whole session without needing to come with any posing ideas yourself. However, if you have some poses you would like to try, or props you would like to use, I am more than happy to give them a go!
